Hi! I’m Ali, former fearful & confused associate therapist and now, licensed therapist and mentor to the pre-licensed therapist.

I created this platform because I believe every pre-licensed therapist deserves access to a mentor or supervisor that will give them both support and answers to become a launched therapist. 

The reality is, becoming a therapist is hard. When I graduated from my masters program and entered my pre-licensed years, at many points along the way I was lost, confused and even on occasion questioning staying in the profession. Was this right for me? I was burned out and exhausted but above that, I found myself physically unwell. I had shooting pain in my chest and a 12 mm herniation in my back all stemming from the intensity of holding both my own and my client’s emotions. I had to search high and low for the right therapist, mentors and cheerleaders to help guide me. At points, I was left to my own devises to just figure it out and at other times I was blessed to have found some amazing people with great guidance. One thing I learned quickly, we can’t do this alone and I need to seek out the right people to help me.

As a pre-licensed clinician in 2015, I sat down and wrote a business plan for a company called The Launched Therapist that was a resource hub to clinicians. I knew then that something was missing and now with 10+ years of clinical work at all different levels of care, a successful group practice and a business career prior to becoming a therapist, I was finally ready to make this vision come to life. I spent my career networking, asking all the questions, talking to peers about their experiences and finally, supervising and providing therapy to countless pre-licensed therapists. After living and breathing the pre-licensed population, I can concretely conclude, I’ve found my passion. I am the mentor you didn’t know you needed, the supervisor you wish you had and most importantly a provider of an easy-to-navigate space where you can feel at home and have your questions answered.

Until The Launched Therapist, the pre-licensed therapist had no home.
